It is important to me because we need to celebrate the differences in all of us. Volunteering with LAF/LEC as a Latina woman has given me the opportunity to connect with community and hopefully make it better by expressing acceptance and love for all especially the LGBTQ community. It never feels good to feel as if you don't belong and no one should have to feel like they do not. The parade float is a great demonstration that you are not alone. It's a celebration of differences and love. I am thankful to be part of such amazing organizations that are making incredible differences.

Hola!

Hello!

Let us introduce ourselves

Empowering Chicano/a/e and Latino/a/e Artists through Community and Creativity

The Chicano Center for the Arts is a dynamic 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing and uplifting aspiring Chicano/a/e and Latino/a/e artists across all genres of art. We believe in the power of art to inspire, transform, and unite communities, and our mission is to provide robust support and opportunities for artists to thrive without the burden of financial barriers.

Our Programs and Initiatives:

  • No-Cost Art Mentorship: We offer free mentorship programs that connect emerging artists with established professionals in their field. This hands-on guidance helps artists develop their skills, refine their craft, and navigate the art industry.

  • Chicano Art Festival: Our annual festival celebrates the rich cultural heritage and artistic expressions of the Chicano community. This vibrant event showcases a diverse range of artworks, performances, and installations, drawing visitors and art enthusiasts from all over.

  • PULGA in the Northeast: Inspired by traditional open-air markets, PULGA is a lively community event where local artists and vendors gather to sell their crafts, artworks, and goods. It's a celebration of culture, creativity, and community spirit.

  • Chicana Awards: We honor the achievements of exceptional Chicana’s who have made significant contributions to the arts. These awards highlight their work, inspire future generations, and affirm the importance of representation in the arts.

  • Barrio+Comunidad MeetUPs: These regular meetups foster a sense of community among artists and art lovers. They provide a platform for networking, collaboration, and sharing ideas, strengthening the bonds within the Chicano and Latino art communities.

  • PopUPs for Entrepreneurs: Our PopUP events give entrepreneurs a space to showcase their products and services. These events support local businesses and provide opportunities for artists to connect with a broader audience.

  • FUERZA Entrepreneur Week: This week-long event is dedicated to empowering Chicano/a/e and Latino/a/e entrepreneurs through workshops, seminars, and networking opportunities. FUERZA Entrepreneur Week aims to build a strong foundation for business success and innovation.

At the Chicano Center for the Arts, we are passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive environment where artists can flourish. Through our diverse range of programs and events, we strive to make the arts accessible to everyone and to celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of the Chicano and Latino communities. Join us in our mission to inspire, uplift, and empower the next generation of artists and cultural leaders.
